Saying goodbye to an old friend. 

The tree at the top of Mount Davidson has stood for longer than any of us can remember. On April 8th, we gathered to say goodbye to it. During a freakishly strong windstorm our friend was blown over. I’ve always imagined the tree as a strong, majestic woman watching our city change over the years from the overlook she occupied.

But even the strong must move on, and it’s important to remember your friends for everything they were and everything they will be in our hearts for years to come.
